We made our way to downtown Birmingham with a camera on July 4th, 2010 to watch the “Thunder on the Mountain” fireworks display. We were parked a good two miles from the actual event, so the program content (music and narration) are not audible. But the display was nice. You can see the statue of Vulcan at the very bottom of the picture on the left. There were a lot of low level fireworks going on in front of the statue. Only a few of those are visible.
Congratulations from SunDolphin Productions to Daniel Huggins and Maridi Thompson
for winning the $15,000 Ritani diamond ring at Bromberg’s first annual Diamond Dash held in Birmingham on Saturday, April 10, 2010. The couple scored at total of 401 points in the high-tech text-message based scavenger hunt for clues in the downtown Birmingham area. As seen in this video highlight of the event, the weather was fantastic, spirits were high and participants had a blast.
Jimmy Rooney of Unique Sounds Entertainment kept Linn Park thumping and jumping throughout the event. Bama Balloons provided unforgettable balloon sculptures. Andy Tolar from design productions had Rogue Tavern light up for the after party.
Special thanks to Kristen Eson from Arden Photography for “hoofing” it around Birmingham with me to cover the event and to Tommy Burroughs for helping Alisa man our location in the scavenger hunt course.
Event sponsors included Bromberg’s, Ritani, Arden Photography, Unique Sounds Entertainment, 103.7 the Q, Magic 96, Blonde Salon and Spa, Creative Events of Birmingham, Rogue Tavern, The Tutwiler, Birmingham Party Planning, Birmingham Magazine, design productions, LLC., and of course SunDolphin Productions.
SunDolphin Productions can’t wait until next year to work with Bromberg’s and the folks at SCVNGR for the second annual Diamond Dash!

The 1st Annual Bromberg’s Diamond Dash is a city-wide treasure hunt brought to you by Bromberg’s Jewelers. In this high tech treasure hunt, teams of two will be solving clues and riddles delivered to each team’s cell phone via text message! The game is totally FUN and totally FREE! Some lucky team of two will be celebrating at Rouge Tavern (apx 2pm) with a diamond ring worth $15k!!! The 1st Annual Bromberg’s Diamond Dash will kickoff at Linn Park at 10am and teams will get ready to run, bike and dash around downtown Birmingham for a hidden $15k diamond ring!
So you must be thinking how can I win a spot to compete for a $15k diamond ring? Good question! Everyone has to sign up to play at www.brombergsdiamonddash.com, and submit their story of why they should win one of the limited spots in the contest.
If spots are limited, how can I be sure to win one? As a member of the SunDolphin Productions community you are privileged to a keyword that will enter you in an exclusive pool of candidates. When submitting your story you must include the codeword, “SUND45″ to be placed in the special candidate pool.
When will I find out if I’m selected? You will receive an email confirming your spot within a couple days. The contest will only be accepting entries until Thursday, April 8th and by the nature of limited spots the earlier you enter the greater your chances of being accepted.
We are very excited to be a part of this event. We hope that a SunDolphin Productions community member wins!!!
Best of Luck! We’ll see you on Saturday, April 10th!!!

SunDolphin Productions is not only Birmingham’s premier wedding and event videography company, but now we’re your favorite radio station!!! OK, OK,…maybe the radio station part is a bit overstated. But, one of our goals in launching our new web site is to create a fun experience for our visitors. We’ve just added a “play music” tab to the top of our wedding and event page. Clicking this tab will open a small mp3 player on your desk top named “Tiny Dancer” (Alisa’s idea). The player has been initially loaded with some of the songs selected by our clients for inclusion in their wedding videos, or music performed and recorded by some of our music video clients. The list will grow with time. And the really cool part is you can request songs to be added to the play list! Simply leave a comment to this blog with the song title and artist. Request new songs, the “classics”, any genre, hidden tracks…anything you think someone might like or want to use for their own wedding or event.
You can use the player for searching out music for your wedding or event, or just turn it on while you’re sitting at your computer and listen while you work. Be sure to check back periodically for music updates. Hope you enjoy!
